ABOUT THE ROLE(S)

We have a great opportunity for one or two new staff to take on responsibility for one or both elements this diverse role. Duties are currently split to 15-17.5 per week for Engagement work and 21-35 hrs per week for communities work. However, With new funding secured for our England communities work and a planned development programme for our engagement work, we expect to grow both elements of this role. Salary is £25,070 fte 35 hr week and pro-rata for part time and the role(s) is/are homebased with travel as required.

Working with a small team of staff and a wide network of volunteers, you will deliver a comprehensive and growing programme of activities within the adoption membership communities across England, and you will coordinate volunteer delivery of our engagement work (currently our Adopter Voice contracts).

You will be responsible for a team of volunteer coordinators, ensuring they are supervised and supported as they run local groups and social activities for those with Adoption UK family membership.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Community activities work (21 to 35 hrs a week)
  • Develop and oversee delivery of membership community activities across England, supporting volunteers to run their groups and other activities effectively and safely.
  • Host webinars and membership community groups, actively engaging in activities where possible; using feedback to Identify the need for further webinar and event activities.
  • Co-ordinate volunteer resources and support those volunteers delivering the membership communities programme.
  • Be responsible for effective monitoring and reporting of volunteer activity data.
  • Ensuring volunteers are recruited, inducted, trained and supervised effectively and in line with company policy.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple teams to ensure data and feedback is passed on for operational and development purposes.
  • Support the development and upkeep of relevant volunteer hub resources, including training, guides, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with community volunteers to identify potential local activities for families, supporting them to work with fundraising staff to identify and incorporate fundraising in their community work.
  • Reply to incoming emails, responding appropriately or referring on, as necessary.
  • Join in staff training as deemed necessary and may also occasionally be expected to attend events to meet with Adoption UK members.

Adopter Voice Engagement work (currently 15-17.5 hrs  week)
  • Co-ordinate volunteer resources and support those volunteers delivering Adopter Voice contracts.
  • Ensure adopter Voice engagement activities, boards and reporting meet the agreed contracted service level agreement expectations in each area.
  • Be responsible for effective monitoring and reporting of volunteer activity data.
  • Ensuring volunteers are recruited, inducted, trained and supervised effectively and In line with company policy.
