Hours: Part time (21 hours per week)

Salary: £27,912 fte (Pro-rated £16,747 for 21 hrs per week)

Location: Remote, hybrid working from Edinburgh office with expectation of travel across designated 4 pilot local authorities in Scotland

This is a great opportunity to join our vibrant Scotland team at an exciting time, as we roll out  our Foundations for Families project, providing support and services to Kinship families.

You will coordinate community networking and support development and delivery of peer support services for Kinship Carers through Foundations for Families pilot project, operating over 4 local authority areas. You will liaise with and provide professionals, parents/carers, children, and young people access to information, resources, and services for kinship communities. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Engage with the kinship care community to establish need and chosen delivery model, build community network links and promote service.
  • Coordinate community activities for kinship families via Foundations for Families.
  • Liaise across wider kinship service networks to collate and share relevant service and support Information.
  • Coordinate planning of and delivery of regular activities including online groups and regular in person events across four local authority areas and online events through funded projects and core services to bring together adoptive and kinship families and individuals, enable peer support, build a sense of community and promote an active and supportive Community Network. 
  • Support the development of volunteer strategy to recruit and support volunteers with lived experience, in line with organisational volunteer guidance and guidelines.
  • Record, monitor and evaluate activity delivery for the purposes of ongoing evaluation and reporting.
  • Respond appropriately to enquiries at events and via email and telephone, referring on to other services and ensure accurate and appropriate recording and tracking of all enquires are maintained using appropriate database systems.
  • Contribute and assist in the development, design and planning of promotional resources and information materials and factsheets. 
  • Attend relevant national meetings, conferences, training events, networking and development opportunities to promote Adoption UK services. 
  • Collaborate, liaise with Adoption UK Scotland and Adoption UK organisation in the delivery and participation of specific events and activities relating to the delivery of Adoption UK services.
