The Welsh Government commissioned Bristol University to undertake research into adoption disruption in Wales.

Adoptive disruption is adoptive placements that have encountered difficulties and possibly resulted in the placement ending.

Two reports were completed by Bristol University.

The first report provided valuable evidence into the reasons why adoption disruption takes place and factors that may make them more likely to take place.

The second report considers the challenges faced by adoptive families and the support services which are needed to help to prevent disruption.
