Peer Support

Delivered by adoptive parents who are fully trained and experienced in working with families parenting children with complex behaviours, our peer support services aim to truly understand the issues adopters and prospective adopters face.

* A peer mentoring scheme – support throughout the journey

* A buddying scheme – friendly advice and support for those newly adoptive parents

* An education mentoring service – for adoptive families whose children are struggling at school

Support is available to parents at all stages of the adoption process and through placement and beyond. Expert help is there as adopters navigate the transitions which most often lead to crisis.

Therapeutic Support

Psychology & Therapy Hub (PATH) offer online trauma-informed therapeutic support for adoptive families across the UK. Delivered by psychologists, therapists and peer experts-by-experience, this gives PATH a unique blend of theoretical, clinical and peer support. Our team draw from a range of approaches including psychological therapies, therapeutic parenting, non-violent resistance, DDP, therapeutic life story work, attachment and trauma-informed frameworks and sensory integration. Services include assessments, packages of support and bespoke needs-led services. This includes PATHways (previously TESSA).

Community groups

You can commission us to build and develop a network of peer support for adopters in your area. Community groups allow adopters and prospective adopters to connect and socialise and our groups are run by experienced adopters. They provide access to a strong and supportive community that gives them a sense of belonging, friendship and understanding, as well as access to information and resources.
