Share your story
We frequently receive enquiries from the media wanting to interview adoptive families and prospective adopters.
We are looking for all types of stories from prospective adopters at the start of the process to those who are several years into an adoption.
Your story can be a positive one or focus on some of the challenges you've faced as an adopter.
Why we need you
Sharing your story is a great way to raise awareness about the joys and challenges of adoption to a wider audience. Telling the media about what it's like to go through the adoption process first hand really helps us by giving our media work credibility and human interest.
Here are some of the articles our media volunteers have been involved with previously:
- Where's the post-adoption support for traumatised children? Guardian 24/6/13
- Adoption: Could you give a child a home? Baba Blog 5/5/13
- Adoption: the race to find families Guardian 5/11/13
- Forging a bond SEN Magazine October 2013
Jo has been a media volunteer for several years. She said:
"I've been happy to share my family's story as I think it's really important to tell people about what adoption is really like. It can be a fun and rewarding experience and I would like to feel that people out there thinking about adoption have benefitted from me talking about how it really is."
