As we approach the end of lockdown restrictions…

VolunteersAfter an extraordinary time when AUKScot was able to provide many of its services to families online it appears as if there is some light at the end of the tunnel for the possible resumption of face-to-face meet ups, events and activities.

With this in mind, we are now looking to resume the activities of Scotlands Volunteer Community Network as restrictions ease over the coming weeks and months.

Time commitment typically includes monthly meetings and quarterly events/tripsThere is flexibility to how this could be achieved. Examples could include solely organising a group, doing it jointly with others or online delivery only.

Within this role you can expect to receive training, ongoing support as well as accessible and practical resources and help.

Sometimes no-one gets it quite like other adopters and there is a strength in this shared experience.

If you would like more information we’d love to welcome you to the team.

The difference you can make

Here are some comments from attendees of our Network meetings.

You do such a great job of running a friendly and supportive group, but also share your professional expertise and experience to the benefit of our wider membership group.

It was pouring rain one Sunday and you had organised the 10 pin bowling....we really needed something to do that day!!

Not enough time for a Community Network role but still want to be involved?

There may still be a role for you. Some of our amazing volunteers offer occasional Event support, work with the FASD Hub or assist in our offices in Edinburgh. These are also dependant on restrictions easing but for an informal discussion about volunteering, please contact Simon at[email protected]
