Help us to help adoptive families to thrive – could you become our new Treasurer?

Adoption UK is seeking a Treasurer with a passion to help adoptive families have a brighter future. You will oversee the implementation of the charity’s strategy and help to develop our work to increase our impact and influence.  As Treasurer you will also be required to chair our Finance & Scrutiny committee and report to the Board of Trustees on the Charity’s financial affairs.

We encourage applications from people with an interest in adoption and to have experience in the following area of expertise:

Knowledge and experience of current fundraising and finance practice relevant to charities

Adoption UK is committed to being an inclusive charity, and we welcome applications from all backgrounds. As a UK wide charity, we aim to have representation from all constituent nations. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by members of our board of trustees and appointments made on merit.

The Board meets four times a year, currently in Birmingham or Banbury and the Finance & Scrutiny committee also meets four times a year in Banbury. The role of Treasurer is not remunerated, but travel and expenses are paid.  The annual time commitment is 10 days, plus preparation and reading time, with opportunities for deeper involvement in relevant areas of the charity’s work dependent on availability.  You will also be invited to attend Adoption UK events and the annual conference.
