2020 has been a tough year for many and now, more than ever, adoptive families around the UK need our support.

Our Christmas Appeal has been chosen as part of the Big Give Christmas Campaign - the UK’s Number One match funding platform specialising in bringing individuals, charities and philanthropists together to multiply their impact.

What does that mean?Big Give Logo
It means, with your support, we have the opportunity to raise a huge amount of money for adoptive families in the UK – but we have just one week to do it in!

During the week of 1-8 December, we will be asking you to get involved and donate or fundraise what you can to our Big Give Christmas campaign. We have just one week to raise as much as we can.

One donation twice the impact!
This year, the Dulverton Trust are supporting us by becoming our Big Give champion, by match funding us up to the sum of £10,000! So, for every £1 donated, Adoption UK receives £2.

Help us transform the lives of vulnerable families during this crucial time.

Other ways to get involved

What will the money go towards?

  • Provide more peer mentoring and 1:1 support for parents dealing with challenging behaviours that their children have as a result of past trauma, such as child to parent violence & self-harm.
  • Ensure we have more trained volunteers and staff to facilitate our online forums, providing a safe space for parents to share their feelings with others who understand.
  • The creation of new online groups so families feeling isolated and alone can connect with other adopters, share experiences, chat, feel ‘normal’ welcome and not alone.
  • To be able to answer more calls to our helpline from families in crisis, and a provide specialist call-back service for those who cannot reach us in the day.
  • Be able to regularly deliver new online training such as music therapy sessions, helping parents’ bond with their traumatised children.

All this will only be possible because of the generosity of people like you helping us to achieve our Big Give Christmas Challenge of raising £20,000.00
