Rubbing shoulders with Royalty
Published: 19.07.16Adoption UK’s Scott Casson-Rennie and his gorgeous son Jacob met up with Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, for a coffee and a natter at a high street coffee shop in London, last month, as you do...
For those of you who missed this on social media, you can find a short film of Scott and Jacob chatting with the Duke below.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Scott and Jacob came about after we were contacted by the Royal Foundation, who wanted an adopted child and their father to attend a Father's Day breakfast with Prince William, in support of the Heads Together campaign on mental health. The event helped highlight the important role fathers play in supporting their children’s mental health. It’s alright for some, eh Scott!
Scott said: “Prince William was warm, caring and interested, and I am honoured to have met him and of course I will dine out on it for a few years - however I met him to raise awareness of something I am passionate about. Mental health is a cause close to my heart.”
Jacob added: "I liked meeting a member of the Royal Family, I was really surprised that he spent a long time talking to us. My favourite part was Daddy letting me eat chocolate cake for breakfast, because he did not have to pay for it."
