Care applications continue to climb
Published: 10.07.13Care applications continue to rise steadily, according to the latest figures from The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass).
Social workers made 849 care applications in June this year– a five per cent increase compared to June 2012 and the second highest figure ever recorded for June.
Between April and June this year Cafcass received a total of 2,744 applications. This figure is eight per cent higher than the same period in 2012 when 2,549 applications were received.
With an average annual increase of eight per cent over the last three years the trend in rising care applications shows no sign of slowing.
