Adoption Leadership Board seeks new chair
Published: 06.01.16The Department for Education (DfE) is looking to recruit a new chair for the Adoption Leadership Board (ALB) after Sir Martin Narey’s resigned from the post in November, last year.
Narey will step down from the board in March, after two years as chair. This comes just months after his appointment as an adviser to the Ministry of Justice and head of a review of children's residential care.
The ALB has been jointly developed by the DfE and the local authority and voluntary adoption sectors. Its remit is to drive significant improvements in the performance of the adoption system in England. Board members include Adoption UK’s chief executive Hugh Thornbery and other senior figures from key organisations within the system.
The position will be based in London and has a salary of between £400 and £600 a day. The closing date for applications is 1st February.
