Child on Parent Violence (CPV) is any behaviour used by a young person to control, dominate, or coerce their parents. It is incredibly overwhelming and upsetting for parents who often feel shame, disappointment and even denial.

Unfortunately, it is an area which is increasingly recognised as a major factor in the breakdown of adoption and foster care placements.

This training session is specifically designed to help you and your family develop strategies to de-escalate child on parent violence (CPV) for secondary school aged children, and will provide you with the following:

  • Increased understanding of child on parent violence.
  • Meeting the needs of your child and how to implement practical strategies to use in your home.
  • Meeting needs of parents/carers and building support structures.
  • Managing anxiety and stress and where to find help.

"I have discovered new techniques that we can use within the family. Hopefully these will go well."

"Brilliantly paced and always felt that the trainers were sensitive and patient in answering questions."

"Really made a big difference in such a short space of time."
