Expert voices:

We're excited to be joined by Prof Eamon McCrory, Professor of Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology at UCL and Dr Amber Elliott, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Director of The Child Psychology Service.

Eamon is a director of the Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families and co-director of the UK Trauma Council. He'll be giving us his take on brain development following early adversity.

Amber will be talking about the concept of 'Superparenting' - what it means, why we default to certain parenting methods and how they compare and contrast with therapeutic parenting methods.

Adoption Legal Centre, part of Ridley & Hall Solicitors, provides legal advice a wide range of adoptive families throughout England on various issues they are facing in their adoption journey.  This includes adoption applications, foster carers wanting to adopt, adoption support plans, adoption allowances, making a will or trust and adoption disruptions. We’ve continued to support the Adoption UK Conference for many years in the hope that we can help and advice any adoptive families who may be facing some legal issues on their journey.

How the day will run:

The conference runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm and is ideal for those parenting children who can't live with their birth parents, and the professionals working with them. We'll be tackling some of the big topics that matter to you including education, mental health and post adoption support.

The day will be broken down into three sections, with expert keynote speakers and panel discussions involving adopted people and education professionals from all corners of the UK. You'll be given the chance to ask questions and interact with speakers and presenters. The sessions will all be recorded and available for ticket holders to watch on demand after the event.

Meet like minded people:

We know how important meeting other people at conference is - so for this virtual event there will be three networking sessions and delegates will be able to pre-book spaces in specific thematic rooms, such as parents of teenagers, LGBTQ+ parents, early days of placement and more.

Don’t miss this chance to connect with your community! Get your tickets now. More info coming soon.
