Early Years Pupil Premium

A young child plays with building bricksFrom April 2015, the Government in England is introducing the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).

If your child is:

  • in receipt of the early education entitlement; and
  • was adopted from local authority care or left care under a special guardianship order or child arrangements order;

your child's early education provider can claim the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).

The EYPP is worth an extra £300 per child and is paid to early education providers to improve the quality of provision for vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

If your child is eligible to attract the EYPP and is accessing the early education entitlement, let your early education provider know. You will be asked to provide evidence of your child's status, such as a copy of the adoption order.

Further information about the EYPP can be found on Gov.uk where there is also guidance for childcare providers.
