Thanks to funding from Barclays, the Shanley Foundation and the Hoare Foundation, Adoption UK has been able to take the first steps to developing a UK-wide youth programme through its Chance to Thrive programme. In the summer we recruited a Youth Programme Lead to develop our provision in England and develop and join up our already successful youth support provision in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland under an Adoption UK Youth Offer.
The Chance to Thrive programme will allow adopted young people to:
One of the priorities is to ensure that our programmes are open and accessible to those who have mental health issues or areneurodiverse as we know that this is much more common in adopted children.
