Wales

We need you.

Volunteers have a significant role in our work in Wales. From running local groups to providing valuable advice on our helpline, volunteers help to support a vibrant adoption community.

Could you help us to achieve even more in Wales by becoming a volunteer?
In return, we can offer training, support and access to a wealth of experience and knowledge about adoption.

What do we need?

If you’d like to offer support directly to the adoption community, and can offer time on a regular basis, perhaps one of the following roles might be of interest,

  • Local Group Coordinator

Lead one of our local community groups which meet regularly in person and online

  • Youth Support Volunteer

Help with the work of our children and young people service at a Connected group

  • Training and Events Volunteer

Provide support at family events and at our training courses (in person and online)

  • Helpline Volunteer

Bring your experience to our Adoption Helpline which runs Monday to Friday providing valuable advice and support

  • Administration Volunteer

Provide essential admin support in our busy Cardiff office

Why I Volunteer

Here are some of the reasons why our amazing volunteers give their time and experience each week. We’d love to welcome you to the team.

I find being a volunteer very rewarding: it’s always inspiring to see the commitment adopters have to supporting their children, and it is great to be able to facilitate conversations between adopters which bring real value to their families. People really can learn so much from the experience of others, and Adoption UK makes those conversations happen.

Clare, Volunteer Group Coordinator, Cardiff

I know how important support from other adopters is for me and want to be able to offer this to others.

Very busy but still want to help?

You can still help inform our work by taking part in our surveys about adoption, such as the Adoption Barometer.

Our work in Wales is growing, with new opportunities for volunteers. For an informal discussion about volunteering, please contact the Lead Coordinator Community Support on 029 2023 0319 or email [email protected]
