Adoption UK awarded an 'outstanding' rating by Ofsted
Published: 07.01.14We are delighted to announce the results of our recent Ofsted inspection. We have again been awarded the highest rating of 'outstanding'.
Our 'outstanding' rating recognises that we deliver "a service of exceptional quality that significantly exceeds minimum requirements".
This result is a credit to all of our staff members, volunteers and trainers for the marvellous role they play every day to deliver the high quality services that have so rightly been recognised by Ofsted as outstanding in every respect.
It also highlights the value of essential support services for families who are parenting a child from the care system, many of whom have experienced abuse or neglect.
The inspection report focuses on our work in England and is the third to be carried out since Adoption UK became a support agency in 2006.
The report underlines the incredible depth and breadth of our work resulting in Adoption UK being judged to be outstanding on every criteria:
- outcomes for young people;
- outcomes for service users;
- the quality of the service;
- keeping children and young people safe;
- leadership and management; and
- the organisation's overall effectiveness.
Hugh Thornbery, Chief Executive of Adoption UK, said:
"The unique element of our services - being defined by and for adopters - was emphasized throughout the report and we were very encouraged by the positive feedback received from members and agencies.
"I look forward to Adoption UK continuing this great work at a time of significant development in the adoption system."
