#YouCanAdopt is a campaign delivered by the The National Adoption Recruitment Steering Group, which AUK is part of, and supported by the Department for Education.
The campaign aims to help find families for the children who wait in care the longest – those who are older, in siblings groups, with disabilities and from ethnic minorities. In England, more than 1,000 of these children are waiting significantly longer than others to find their forever homes.
To meet real adopters of children from these groups, watch the new film from #YouCanAdopt. It has a bit of a twist! Please note that though the adopters are real, the children in this film are actors.
Thinking of adopting? We’ll be with you every step of the way.
There are nearly 3,000 children waiting to be adopted in England. Adoption could transform their lives and give them the safe and loving homes they need.
Anyone interested in becoming an adoptive parent is being urged to find out more via national campaign #YouCanAdopt which aims to bust myths around who is eligible to adopt and explore what the adoption process involves
