AilsaAilsa has a young son who has a diagnosis of FASD.  She is a secondary school English teacher to trade, but for the past five years, has swapped full time teaching for supporting young people with FASD, as well as their families and educators working with them.  She first joined the Hub as a Parent Partner in 2020 and then took on a role as an Education Advisor alongside Lorna. Ailsa graduated from Glasgow University in 1999 with M.A. (Hons) in English Literature and completed her P.G.C.E in Secondary Education at the University of Edinburgh in 2004.

She has written, lectured and presented on a variety of topics, from female doctors in the First World War to gender equality in parenting roles and loves the variety of opportunities that her interests bring
