Life Story: Making sense of the past

A young person's knowledge of their personal history is crucial to their sense of stability and identity.

Adopters and carers cannot undo the past for their children but they can help them understand it.

Whether you are an adopter, carer or practitioner, come along to this year's conference to feel inspired, informed and to connect with others.

Hear from a number of expert speakers and go away armed with knowledge and practical tips about how to help children and young people make sense of their past and move forward with a sense of belonging.

Confirmed speakers:

Richard Rose - director of Child Trauma Intervention Services Ltd (CTIS) which seeks to engage with children affected by early life trauma and help them achieve their full potential.

Katie Wrench - an experienced therapeutic social worker who provides training around therapeutic life story work to local authorities, independent fostering agencies as well as the third sector (NSPCC) across the UK.

Hetty Verhagen and David Robinson-Field - practice managers of the Centre for Adoption Support (CfAS) which offers a range of support and training services related to adoption and permanency.

Rachel Staff - a therapeutic social work manager for AdoptionPlus.

The popular young persons' panel is also returning, hosted by Sally Donovan.
