Membership

Adoption UK is the only national self-help charity run by and for adoptive parents and long-term foster carers, offering support before, during and after adoption. By becoming a member of Adoption UK, you will receive immediate access to our range services, as well as supporting the work that we do with adoptive families across the UK.

There are three ways you can join Adoption UK:

1. Individual/Family Membership

Adopters, prospective adopters and long term foster carers can join as an individual or family member to receive information and support. Members can choose to receive Adoption Today magazine only, or Adoption Today and our family finding magazine Children Who Wait, which includes access to Children Who Wait Online.

2. Associate Membership

Practitioners with an interest in adoption can access information and benefits by becoming an associate member, either as an individual or on behalf of their organisation. If you are a professional working with adoptive families or children in the field of education, health, therapeutic or legal services, you could benefit from a range of information and support we can offer you.

3. Agency Membership

Local authorities and voluntary adoption agencies can access a wealth of information, benefits and discounts to enable them to give quality support to their prospective adopters and adoptive families. Once an agency is a member, extra magazines can be purchased at a discounted rate for social workers belonging to that agency.

Adoption Today magazine: Adoption UK’s bimonthly magazine Adoption Today includes features on all aspects of adoption, including information about adoption agencies, new developments in practice and research, and reports from Adoption UK support groups.

Children Who Wait magazine: Adoption UK’s family-finding magazine Children Who Wait is published each month and features profiles of children currently looking for new families.

Adoption UK Agency Membership: At Adoption UK we are ideally placed to work with you, to give your adopters the best possible support in the most challenging of roles, doing one of the most challenging and worthwhile things they will ever do. This page provides a detailed breakdown of the huge range of benefits agency membership of Adoption UK offers you and your adopters.
