Conference description

Specialist adoption social worker, Joy Rees, uses her extensive experience to develop an innovative family-friendly approach to life story work to build a sense of permanency, identity and secure attachments for adopted children.

Child and adult psychotherapist, Louis Sydney, applies his clinical experience to help children and families understand the therapeutic benefits of life story work. Using a number of techniques he will offer parents strategies to help children with their troubled life stories.

Joy and Louis will help adopters appreciate that life story work is an essential therapeutic tool for adopters to give their children a positive sense of who they are and hope for the future.
