Conference description

Children adopted from the care system often face challenges at school which relate to traumatic experiences in their early lives.

This can have a severe impact on learning and behaviour in the classroom and presents a real challenge for schools, parents and educational and social care practitioners.

This seminar will provide alternative approaches to support children who have experienced trauma and loss by exploring the issues that stem from early trauma and provide practical strategies to adopters, carers and teachers.

Understand the effects of early trauma and loss on their children
Understand the child who can’t seem to learn at school

Understand the behaviours of children who have suffered trauma and loss
Understand the impact of this trauma on learning and achievement in the classroom
Deliver, inclusive, effective attachment-led support to these pupils
