An Adoption UK conference in London

The Adoption Journey: School Days with Louise Michelle Bombčr and Marion Allen

Friday 8 October 2010

Friends House, London

An Adoption UK conference for adoptive parents, foster carers, educationalists and professionals working with children and young people.

Children adopted from the care system and looked after children often face challenges at school which relate back to traumatic experiences in their early lives. This can have a severe impact on learning and behaviour in the classroom and present a real challenge for schools, parents and educational and social care practitioners.

The conference will provide alternative approaches to support children who have experienced trauma and loss by exploring the issues that stem from early trauma and provide practical strategies to ease the transition from primary to secondary school.
