Below is the winning entry for the Spring 2010 Online Community Poetry Competition, on the theme of ‘new beginnings'.

When You Left.

When you left, you left me alone,

When you left, I was chilled to the bone,

When you left, you left me scared,

When you left, you didn’t show you cared,

When you left, you left me crying,

When you left, my heart started dying,

When you left, you destroyed my trust,

When you left, my future didn’t matter,

You weren’t fussed.

When you left, I fell apart,

When you left you broke my heart,

Since I was little you weren’t there,

So why do I care?
